Click to Zoom Museum Berggruen, located in Berlin, was opened in 1996 to house and display the collection of the German-born art dealer Heinz Berggruen (1914-2007). This exhibition, consisting of 97 works from the museum, marks the first time that Berggruen’s collection has been introduced in Japan. Along with works by Picasso that span the artist’s entire career, the exhibition includes outstanding pieces by Picasso’s contemporaries, such as Paul Klee, Henri Matisse, and Alberto Giacometti, who were Berggruen’s most beloved artists and eleven works from Japan’s national art museums will be presented as retrace some of the greatest achievements of 20th-century European art.
