Visitors with Disabilities

  • Admission to collection exhibitions is free for visitors with disabilities and one accompanying person. For special exhibitions, please check the information for each exhibition. Please present proof of disability.
  • Visitors with disabilities who arrive by car are asked to use nearby paid parking facilities.
  • Guide dogs, service dogs, and hearing dogs are permitted inside the museum.
  • Approximately 10 wheelchairs are available for loan. Please inquire at the reception counter at the entrance on the first floor. Wheelchair use is free of charge.
  • Ostomy care facilities are available in the accessible restroom on the first basement floor.

Visitors with Hearing Impairments

  • Written communication support is available at the information desk on the first basement floor. Please inquire if you would like to use this service.

Visitors with Small Children

  • Strollers are available for loan. Please inquire at the reception counter at the entrance on the first floor. Stroller use is free of charge.
    (When the museum is crowded, use of strollers may be restricted for safety reasons.)
  • A kids’ room and a nursing room are located in the entrance lobby on the first basement floor. Please feel free to use them.
    *Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.

AED (Automated External Defibrillator)

  • This is a medical device that delivers an electric shock to help restore heart function in the event of cardiac arrest. An AED is located near the escalator at the entrance to the galleries on the third basement floor.
