Admission

What are the museum’s opening hours?

10:00–17:00 (10:00–20:00 on Fridays). Last admission is 30 minutes before closing. Closing times may vary depending on the exhibition. For details, please check the pages for individual exhibitions.

When is the museum closed?

Every Monday. When Monday is a national holiday, the museum is open on Monday and closed the next day (Tuesday). The museum is also closed during the New Year period and for exhibition changes. For details, please see Hours and Admission in the Visitor Information section.

How can I get to the museum?

If traveling from JR Osaka Station, the museum can easily be accessed from Higobashi Station on the Osaka Metro Yotsubashi Line or Fukushima Station on the Osaka Loop Line. If traveling from Kyoto, get off at Keihan Watanabebashi Station, and from Kobe, Hanshin Fukushima Station and JR Tozai Line Shin-Fukushima Station are located near the museum. The museum can also be reached on foot or by bus from JR Osaka Station or from Yodoyabashi Station on the Osaka Metro Midosuji Line or Keihan Line. For details, please see Directions.

I would like to drive to the museum. Is there parking?

The museum does not have dedicated or affiliated parking. When visiting by car, please use nearby paid parking facilities. Parking discount services are not available.

What are the exhibition admission fees?

In general, admission fees for collection exhibitions and curated exhibitions are as follows:
Adults (individual) ¥430, (group) ¥220, Friday evenings (17:00–20:00) ¥250
University students (individual) ¥130, (group) ¥70, Friday evenings (17:00–20:00) ¥70

*High school students and younger, visitors under 18, visitors 65 and older, and visitors with disabilities and one accompanying person are admitted free of charge. Please present the relevant certificate or identification at the ticket counter.

*Admission fees for special exhibitions vary. Please check the pages for individual exhibitions.

On which floor are exhibitions held?

In general, collection exhibitions and curated exhibitions are held on the second basement floor, and special exhibitions are held on the third basement floor.

Visitor Services

Are wheelchairs available for loan?

Ten wheelchairs are available. Please inquire at the reception counter at the entrance. Use is free of charge.

Are strollers available for loan?

Several strollers are available. Please inquire at the reception counter at the entrance. Use is free of charge. (When the museum is crowded, use of strollers may be restricted for safety reasons.)

Are there facilities for children?

A kids’ room and a nursing room are located on the first basement floor. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.

Museum Facilities

Are there facilities where I can view materials related to exhibitions?

The Media Corner on the first basement floor provides access to catalogs from past exhibitions held at the museum.

Is there a restaurant?

A restaurant is temporarily closed.

Is there a shop where I can purchase exhibition catalogues and merchandise related to the collection?

A museum shop is located on the first basement floor, and shopping without visiting the museum itself is possible.

Is Free Wi-Fi available?

Free Wi-Fi is available at the museum.
You can connect to the internet free of charge using your smartphone, tablet, or other device.
